PARKER EXTENDED DAY PROGRAMS

Welcome to another exciting year of Parker Extended Day Programs! We are pleased to continue offering our Parker families a variety of quality programs for students in Junior Kindergarten through 5th grade.

Our mission is to provide safe, nurturing and fun after-school opportunities to meet the varied needs of the Parker community.

PARKER P.L.U.S. (Programs for Learning Unique Stuff)
Students enrolled in JK–5th grade are welcome to enroll in Parker P.L.U.S., a series of mini-classes geared toward exposing students to a wonderful sampling of exciting and unique activities. PARKER PM
After their school day ends, students in JK–5th grade are welcome to participate in our after-school program. Developed to serve as a safe and nurturing home away from home for children of working or busy parents, Parker PM offers students a wide array of indoor and outdoor organized activities coupled with opportunities for creative free play. Older children have quiet time to complete their homework assignments. Parker PM begins for enrolled students immediately after dismissal:

  • For Parker’s Junior and Senior Kindergarteners, Parker PM begins at 11:45 a.m.
  • For students in grades 1 through 5, Parker PM begins at 3:10 p.m.
  • Parker PM ends each day at either 3:10 p.m. or 6 p.m.

OUR STAFF
For 19 years, Parker’s extended day options have offered parents and students age-appropriate programs that have a low child-to-staff ratio. The extended day staff oversees the program’s daily activities and serves as guides and mentors to ensure that each child’s after-school experience is a positive one.

FACILITIES
For many years, Parker PM has been located on Parker’s campus in the 1st and 2nd grade hallway. Our parents and students have come to see our oversized room as a special place for participating in activities, storing belongings and relaxing. In addition to this space, Parker uses many of the school’s other outstanding facilities including the playground, athletic field, student kitchen, gymnasiums and Lower School classrooms. Children also regularly take advantage of the resources surrounding Parker such as Lincoln Park Zoo and Oz Park.

OUR SCHEDULE
Parker PM operates Monday through Friday and follows the school’s academic calendar. Full-day options are available on Lower and Intermediate School Conference Days. Because we understand the unique needs of each family, Parker PM offers a variety of enrollment options ranging from daily attendance to an as-needed drop-in basis. Please see the enclosed enrollment form to determine the option that works best for your family’s after-school care needs.

REGISTRATION AND TUITION
For both Parker PM and Parker P.L.U.S., you may register online by clicking here, or conventionally by mail fax at 773-549-4430 or by mail; please note that your student is not enrolled and his/her space is not reserved until payment is received or you have spoken with the director and made specific payment arrangements. For Parker P.L.U.S., early registration is strongly suggested as some classes fill quickly or are cancelled if enrollment is low.

PARKER PM REGISTRATION AND PROGRAM CHANGES
Requests for cancellations or changes to your student’s Parker PM extended day option must be received in writing and will be updated in the next payment cycle. Not attending a program does not constitute an official withdrawal from that program or cancellation of tuition. Requests for cancellations and refunds must be in writing. Please e-mail your written notification to both Stacie Newmark at snewmark@fwparker.organd Shontique Jackson at sjackson@fwparker.org.

PARKER P.L.U.S. CANCELLATION AND REFUNDS
If a student withdraws from a Parker P.L.U.S. class anytime between the 2nd and 5th week of attendance, we will withhold 25% of the refund. If a student withdraws from a Parker P.L.U.S. class after the 5th week of attendance, we will not issue a refund. If we must cancel a class due to low enrollment, we will issue a full refund. Requests for cancellations and refunds must be in writing. Please e-mail your written notification to both Stacie Newmark at snewmark@fwparker.organd Shontique Jackson at sjackson@fwparker.org.
