Dr. Khare Shares with Upper School

Before December Recess, Upper School students in Bridget Lesinski’s Anatomy class enjoyed a special guest visit from physician Dr. Rahul Kumar Khare.

Parent of juniors Cameron and Maya, Dr. Khare’s visit related to class study of the nervous system, and he shared how doctors use ketamine and hallucinogens to treat depression, comparing their effectiveness to other psychiatric treatments. Dr. Khare also touched on the history of psychedelics and the fear they elicited in mainstream culture.

Lesinski said, “Students were engaged and asked questions about being a physician and the limitations that currently face this largely untapped area of treatment for people’s well-being.”

Parker is extremely grateful to Dr. Khare for taking time out of his busy schedule to give students the experience of talking to an expert in the field.
