Senior Named to the IHSA All-State Academic Team

Parker is proud to announce that the IHSA has accepted senior Riya Jain to the 31st All-State Academic Team! The IHSA received more than 500 nominations and chose Jain as one of just 26 students to receive this prestigious award.

To be selected, Jain had to meet three main criteria: a minimum GPA of 3.5, participation in at least two IHSA activities during each of the last two years and evidence she had “demonstrated outstanding citizenship during their high school career.” To all those familiar with Jain, it came as no shock that she passed with flying colors! IHSA Executive Director Craig Anderson said, “These students are the embodiment of what it means to take advantage of the entire high school experience.”

When asked about this news, Jain shared “Being named to the All-State Academic Team is a testament to the dedication I’ve poured into both my academics and my passion for sports. Balancing three sports with school and extracurriculars takes hard work, and I’m really grateful to be recognized for it.”

Parker is extremely proud of Jain for the hard work and dedication that led to this achievement. The school agrees with Anderson that Jain perfectly embodies what it means to be a successful student-athlete.
