Be a part of the Parent SEED Project

Dear Parker Families,

The National SEED Project is a peer-led professional development program that promotes change through self-reflection and interpersonal dialogue and builds capacity for more equitable curriculum, campuses and communities. This is not a lecture series. Instead, my facilitation task is helping us reflect on our own experiences with schooling, diversity and connection and to have constructive conversations so we may engage with these difficult topics without blame, shame, or guilt.

I am excited to be bringing a SEED group for parents to Francis W. Parker School this year. The Parent SEED Project will meet once a month, from 6–9 p.m., with a meal provided. A listing of dates is available below. To create a safe space for dialogue and conversation, SEED meetings are not drop-in meetings. We ask that you commit to being present at as many of the gatherings as possible. If you look at the meeting dates below and know that you will likely not make it to two of the meetings, please consider participating during another school year.

If you are interested, please don’t hesitate to contact me at klarue@fwparker.org or by replying to this note.
