Parent Paleontologist in 6th Grade

Sixth grade science students recently listened to a presentation by a paleontologist when University of Chicago Assistant Professor and Parker parent Mark Webster visited as a guest scientist.

During his visit, Webster spoke to students about his life as a paleontologist and touched on a range of topics they are currently studying in their geology unit on fossils and in history class during a unit on early humans in Africa. Additionally, Webster spoke in detail about fossils and the evolution of species, sharing a number of fossils that he had personally unearthed and recounting stories from his fieldwork.

This experience is a perfect way of bringing information students have been covering in class to life for our young scientists!
