Parker Attends National Council of Supervisors of Mathematics

At the start of the school year, Lower and Intermediate School Math Specialist Denise David and Lower and Intermediate School Director of Studies Barbara Hunt traveled to the 54th annual National Council of Supervisors of Mathematics Conference!

The inspiration for this year’s conference was, “Imagine. Inspire. Influence. Make an Impact! Imagine a Future of Powerful Mathematics Education. Inspire Colleagues Through Bold Leadership. Influence Educators Through Coaching. And Impact Systems for Equity and Social Justice.”

After the conference, David and Hunt had the chance to reflect on their experience. “The main themes of the conference were about creating equal access to mathematics education, rejecting deficit model thinking, honoring student identities and cultural backgrounds and being fearless in the face of opposition to change.”
