Parker’s curriculum offers many exciting paths of increasing complexity to pursue the study of mathematics. Students explore mathematical reasoning, critical analysis and innovative experimentation—hallmarks of Parker’s approach to education—as they progress through coursework in algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, statistics and other advanced mathematical topics during the four-year Upper School experience. The department aims to foster an appreciation of the power, beauty and utility of math and assist students in developing the skills and understanding necessary for continued study. To meet the graduation requirement in mathematics, students must successfully complete a minimum of three years of courses. Students in grades 11 and 12 may enroll in more than one course, provided they meet the prerequisites of each one.
