Francis W. Parker School is pleased to announce the D’Rita and Robbie Robinson Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Speaker Series as part of our ongoing effort to provide insightful perspectives on vital issues facing our democratic society and global world.
The first speaker in this new series is author and New York Times Op-Ed columnist Charles M. Blow. Blow will speak about current issues facing our nation, including the relationship of race and sexuality, which he explores in his recent memoir Fire Shut Up in My Bones, a New York Times bestseller and winner of the Lambda Literary Award and the Sperber Prize, among other prominent lists of bestselling books published in 2014.
In his column, which appears in The New York Times on Mondays and Thursdays, Blow writes about character and integrity, social justice and racial equality, electoral politics and the presidency, gun control and violence, among other topics.
