Watch Us Build a Robot in One Weekend

Parker’s Upper School Robotics team has had a busy summer full of hosting an off-season competition and moving their gear from their shared workshop in a physics classroom to a newly constructed, purpose-built robotics workshop.

We will share more about the summer competition next week, but the team wants to invite parents, students and anyone interested in learning more about the team to virtually share in an intensive build session taking place this weekend!

The challenge associated with this year’s robotics season was announced at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 7. Knowing the challenge, the team will spend all day Saturday and Sunday prototyping robots to accomplish this challenge using parts kits generously donated by Andymark and REV Robotics. In addition to returning team members, a handful of Parker alumni and members of the Illinois robotics community will join the team to kick of the build session in style!

The team will live stream their “Robot in One Weekend” build session at twitch.tv/firstupdatesnow from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, September 8 and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, September 9.
