Singer, Teacher and Sound Guide Shares at Morning Ex

Assistant Principal Ruth Jurgensen recently welcomed singer, teacher and facilitator Davin Youngs to the school to share in the transformational power of singing.

At this gathering, Youngs began with a performance of improvised singing, using his voice and an electronic looping device. He then welcomed students to contribute to the song, using their voices to collectively create an orchestra of sounds. Afterward, he spoke to the audience about what happens when we sing, why we sing and what it means to improvise while singing.
