Fourth Graders Design a Biopark—in Spanish!

Our 4th graders recently completed an interdisciplinary project that combined their studies of Spanish, math, social studies and science. To explore more of the world around them, students spent time learning about animals, geography and habitats in the Hispanic world. Each student then selected an animal to research, wrote an animal profile in Spanish and then custom-designed an original animal habitat, including calculating the area and perimeter. By placing all the habitats together, students have created one, giant biopark for all to enjoy.
