Chicago FTC League Championship at Parker

By Nathan Satterfield ’19

This weekend, two Francis W. Parker Upper School robotics teams will be busy hosting and competing in the Chicago North League Championship at Parker. The two teams will vie for two of the four slots to advance to the Illinois FTC State Tournament, which takes place later this month.

During the past few months, the robotics teams have been competing in three league meet tournaments leading up to the Championship. The two teams are in first and second place—3507 Robotheosis in first, and 9410 Franks Garage in 2nd—out of 19 teams in the Chicago North League.

Everyone in the Parker community is welcome to stop by and check out the robotics tournament. The opening ceremony begins at 10 a.m. with matches starting at 10:30 a.m. Matches will take place in the Big Gym, and each team will have their “pit area” (their home base with tools, other supplies and a practice field) in the Draft Gym.

You can follow along at home by watching the event live on Twitch or by checking out scores and rankings as the event occurs.
