Parker Won’t Forget About You!

The school community recently gathered on two occasions to honor retiring faculty members Patrick McHale and Bonnie Seebold for their combined 75 years of service to Parker.

At a special Retirement Morning Ex, alum Larry Grimm ’85 spoke passionately about Seebold’s lasting impact on him as a student and stage actor, fellow English teacher Mike Mahany read a special poem, and students Will Ehrlich ’21 (vocals), Noel Fernandez ’19 (flute) and Yildis Rihter ’21 performed “Loch Lomond” in tribute to her 41 years of teaching at the school.

First grade teacher Bev “Greenie” Greenberg then spoke about McHale’s 34 years of physical education instruction at the school and PE Department Chair Jan Zoufal asked those in attendance who have been taught by, or have had children taught by, McHale to stand—resulting in a standing ovation! Upper School music teacher Emma Castaldi then led the Upper School Special Chorus in a rousing rendition of Simple Minds’ “Don’t You Forget About Me” to bring the assembly to a close.

Later that day, parents, alumni and parents emeriti gathered at the school for a special reception honoring these beloved faculty members and all they have brought to the lives of Parker community members through the years.
