ACIS Expands in its Second Year
For the second consecutive year, Parker offered administrators of color opportunities for connection, mentoring and sharing to support their leadership by hosting the Administrators of Color in Independent Schools conference (ACIS).
There was more interest in the event this year as reflected by the increased numbers of participants, with more than 80 administrators representing 43 schools from 16 states and territories, including the Virgin Islands, gathering at the school.
During the two days, participants heard keynote addresses by Harvard University Assistant Professor Anthony Abraham Jack as well as author and educational sociologist Dr. Eve Ewing.
Visiting administrators participated in one of two breakout sessions: “Next Level Brand Behavior: Securing Your Seat at the Table,” “Responsive Leadership in Reactive Times” before sharing in a conversation with author and columnist Anand Giridharadas facilitated by Parker’s John G. Levi Chief Advancement Officer Anedra Kerr.
A successful second year of ACIS ensures that this will be an event many look forward to next year. Special thanks to all the participants, organizers and volunteers throughout the school who helped to make it such a wonderful occasion once again.
