Students on Parker’s Scholastic Bowl team recently had a very successful tournament at Homewood-Flossmoor High School.

Scholastic Bowl is a competitive team knowledge competition. Parker’s team was created in 2017 and has become more and more successful with each tournament. The team is coached by Mr. Levine and Mr. Zhang and practices twice every week. This tournament was one of its best yet. The A team went 5-3 on the day, its best record to date. The B team went 3-0 in the afternoon, earning the first-ever Scholastic Bowl trophy awarded to Francis W. Parker School. All of these tournaments lead up to the state tournament, which will take place this March.

Through this activity, Parker students learn about a vast array of topics that they would otherwise not have exposure to. It creates and enhances teamwork and listening skills, and it is very entertaining. The team hopes to continue to grow and improve this season and in the many more to come.

All students are welcome to join!
