A Helping Hand with Raising Digital Natives

Author and educational consultant Devorah Heitner recently returned to Parker to speak with Intermediate and Middle School parents and caregivers about teaching kids to use technology in a smart way.

Gathered together on the Heller Auditorium’s stage, Heitner spent a morning speaking with parents about their digital behavior and shared a range of best practices to help children live healthy digital lives.

We look forward to Dr. Heitner’s return to the school next month to work directly with our students.

Dr. Heitner is the author of Screenwise: Helping Kids Thrive (and Survive) in Their Digital World and a nationally recognized expert on mentoring children for healthy digital lives. Her impactful work has been featured in The Washington Post, Time Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, Chicago Tribune and Psychology Today, among other publications. TV and radio/podcasting work includes NPR, BBC World Service, WGN and ABC, NBC and FOX affiliates around the country. She is founder of Raising Digital Natives and has long been a friend to Parker, consulting with the school on policy development, student curriculum and parent education.
