Chicago Sinfonietta Brings Project Inclusion to Parker

On Wednesday, Parker enjoyed a special Morning Ex performance by a quartet of Project Inclusion Ensemble Freeman Fellows from the Chicago Sinfonietta. Upper School History and Social Studies Co-Chair Andrew Bigelow introduced the quartet and announced that the Chicago Sinfonietta has been performing at Parker for more than 10 years.

Chicago Sinfonietta, which describes itself as “a defiantly different kind of orchestra,” began Project Inclusion as a way to help develop emergent diverse musicians and conductors but has since broadened its scope to “tackle matters of diversity and inclusion from every angle.” Through their charismatic presentation style, virtuosic performances and authentic responses to audience questions, Freeman Fellows Fahad Awan (violin), Najette Abouelhadi (cello), Caitlin Edwards (violin) and Seth Pae (viola) showcased the value of this program perfectly for the audience.

Parker is fortunate and grateful that the Chicago Sinfonietta has continued to include our community in their efforts to change the face of classical music.
