Entrepreneurial Spirit and Service in 4th Grade

As part of their community service responsibilities at school, each of our three 4th grade classrooms rotates every six weeks among their responsibilities as K-walkers, employees of the 4th grade school store and members of a cafeteria cleanup squad.

In each classroom, students have been brainstorming ways to expand the school store to be more responsive to the needs of our school community. Teacher Diane Berin’s students, who won’t officially work in the school store until the week of February 24, took a closer look at the school’s academic calendar and saw an ideal opportunity in the annual Lower and Intermediate School Science Fair: Why not sell science fair materials that more than 50% of 1st through 5th grade students will need for the big event on Thursday, March 12?

Students will sell trifold boards, poster letter stickers, colorful tape, glue, Sharpies, cardstock, colorful index cards and more. Please swing by the school store from February 24 through March 12 to purchase all your science fair needs!
