Parker Students Become “Featured Poets” in Literature Magazine

Parker students Uma Morris ’25 and Kumiko Muro ’24 were two of the Featured Poets in the most recent issue of VOICES de la LUNA, a literary magazine based in San Antonio, Texas. The February issue, which celebrates the 50th anniversary of Earth Day (April 2020), includes pieces by writers, painters and photographers from around the world.

Morris’s and Muro’s poems are among six works by younger writers in the collection, along with poems by Young People’s Poet Laureate Naomi Shihab Nye and poet Michael Anania, both recent visitors to Parker. Sixth grade English teacher George Drury submitted the students’ poems for publication.

Congratulations, Uma and Kumiko!
