A Peek into a Lower School Art Class

A new year of discovery is off and running at Parker. And, although safety mitigations are still in place, Lower School art teachers celebrated a return to art classrooms with a multi-week exploratory unit for 1st through 3rd grade students.

These students spent the first weeks of school exploring and creating drawings, paintings, weavings, beads and cardboard items in the Art room. “It is soooo nice to be back in the Art room,” art teacher Anne Blasko said, “and I think the kids are overjoyed to be in the space with all the wonderful materials.”

At Parker, we believe children learn best through exploration and experimentation. These type of units from the Art Department highlight this belief and provide a firm foundation for our youngest students as the year progresses.
