Teacher Published in Upcoming Educational Series

Parker is very fortunate to have within our community master teachers who not only show up to work every day teaching our students, but also act as thought leaders for the larger education community. One example of this is Junior Kindergarten teacher Jeremiah Howe, who was recently tapped to pen a chapter in the 1st edition of Belonging in Changing Educational Spaces: Negotiating Global, Transnational, and Neoliberal Dynamics. This new educational book series “explores the impacts on personal and professional, local and global forms of belonging in educational spaces amidst rapid changes shaped by globalization.”

Howe’s article, “Each One Standing on the Other’s Head: Neoliberal Pariahdom and How Parvenu Culture Inhibits Broad Social Solidarity Among the Working-Class,” is published in the first part of this book, which encourages readers to consider the idea of belonging as a goal for education.

“I am humbled to be part of this very important work,” Howe shared, “and only hope that my contribution can somehow provide a mirror for a person who is searching for a glimpse of themselves in a world turned upside down.”

We are very proud that Howe was asked to share his knowledge and expertise in this book, and we encourage anyone interested to click here to learn more.
