Parker Teachers and Students Featured in Shakespeare Slam

Six members of the Parker community have joined teachers and students from 30 regional high schools to participate in the fifth annual Chicago Shakespeare Slam, which will be streamed online on two consecutive evenings.

Upper School English teacher Cory Zeller, retired English teacher Bonnie Seebold and sophomores Davu Hemphill-Smith, Harry Lowitz, Dylan Maki and Pau Maset are among the Parker talent who toiled throughout the fall semester in teams to collaborate on creative interpretations of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream and celebrate their power as speakers and interpreters.

The program will culminate in two recorded productions that will stream on Wednesday, February 2, and Thursday, February 3. Parker students will be featured in the Thursday production, and all are welcome to click in and witness the Parker community’s contribution to this regionwide event—a testimony to their commitment and ingenuity, especially in the face of the unprecedented challenges of this academic year.
