Raising Awareness with Tape in the 7th Grade

Seventh grade students in Caroline Gardner’s Art classes have been flexing their creativity recently to bring awareness to a range of environmental causes.

With Earth Day approaching this month, 7th graders teamed up in groups of three and chose a topic about conservation, climate change or Earth stewardship. Next, students worked to design a mural that depicted their topic, made entirely out of tape for the Middle School hallways.

With their designs in hand, students produced a range of art that focused on issues like pollution, animal protections and more. Each piece represents a statement from these students, and each group added an Artist Statement to explain their thoughts, including facts to highlight their beliefs.

Parker is very proud of their hard work and invites everyone to view photos of these climate crusaders in action.
