SK Students Strut their Stuff in Creative Movement and Dance

Creative Movement and Dance Development, a new course in Parker’s Senior Kindergarten, invited members of the community to their first Program Performance in the Dance Studio.

In these twice-weekly meetings, dance teacher Florence Walker-Harris helped students understand terms like “movement,” “dance” and “choreography” while further building upon their kinesthetic knowledge from Physical Education classes.

This week, after nearly a full year of dance curriculum for SK movers and shakers, Walker-Harris invited the community to watch and support the three classes as they performed their rehearsed dance routines. The students showcased and explained the different types of movement they had mastered so far.
It was truly an exciting, energy-filled experience full of movement, music and learning.
