Two Colonels Celebrate 1,000-Point Seasons

This past week, senior student-athletes Payton Pitts and Caleb David each broke the 1,000-point mark in basketball for regular season play against Latin and Northside College Prep, respectively.

Both student-athletes have been playing at peak performance this year. As of February 1, David is ranked #53 in the state with a scoring average of 18.6 points per game, and Pitts is ranked #61 in the state with a scoring average of 18.1 points per game per IHSA (MaxPreps), which includes all four classes of basketball.

“What an amazing accomplishment and journey it has been watching both Caleb and Payton succeed in Upper School basketball these past four years.” Head Coach Jarrick McGee said. “These two student-athletes have set the bar for future Parker players with their work ethic, production and professionalism throughout their tenure. Each year they have improved their scoring averages. It’s also nice that both student-athletes received All-Tournament accolades during both Holiday Tournaments they participated in this season.”

Director of Athletics Bobby Starks commented, “Joining the 1,000-point club is a historic achievement not only for Payton and Caleb but also for our basketball program. Reaching the 1,000-point milestone is a testament to Payton’s and Caleb’s hard work and dedication to honing their basketball skills. It is extremely impressive that they were able to achieve this milestone despite one of their four seasons being a ‘COVID season,’ when they played in fewer than five games. What is more impressive is that they have achieved as much success off the court as they have on the court. Both Payton and Caleb are exemplary student-athletes in our program. I am so proud of them and wish them continued success during the season and in their future endeavors.”
