Colonels Go Off the Court and Into the Community

By Mike Clark-Arroniz
On Sundays, January 22 and January 29, the Parker Boys’ Basketball teams volunteered their time at Habitat for Humanity’s Chicago ReStore location. Both the Varsity and JV teams participated to help an organization dedicated to giving back to the community and those in need.

The students completed several tasks, including collecting donations, cleaning newly donated goods and assembling furniture.

ReStore is a Habitat for Humanity project that invites people to donate their lightly used goods, from furniture to home appliances; those items are then sold, with the proceeds funding Habitat’s build operations and local communities.

The boys are not only making an impact on the court, but off it as well.
