Lights and Art in 8th Grade

Students in 8th grade have been hard at work with Visual Arts Department Co-Chair Katie Palmer creating pieces of art by using light.

Called photograms, these works are images made without a camera by placing an object directly onto the surface of a light-sensitive material and exposing it to light. Eighth graders used objects and printed transparencies to create their own photograms.

These unique pieces of light are currently on display in the 4th floor hallway, and you can see examples of these 8th graders’ hard work by clicking here.
