Parker Welcomes New Director of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging Erika Prahl

We are excited to announce that Parker has successfully completed a nationwide leadership search to find a Director of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB). We completed this search in partnership with Strategenius, a nationally recognized executive search firm that specializes in identifying and placing exceptional, diverse talent in independent schools.

Strategenius received more than 60 applications for this search and shared a long list of more than 10 candidates with us. Our search committee interviewed seven semi-finalists via Zoom and hosted four finalists on campus.

Parker is excited to welcome Erika Prahl as our incoming Director of DEIB. Prahl is a seasoned independent school administrator and has a deep commitment to DEIB in schools. She will start on July 1.

Prahl is currently the Dean of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at Middlesex School in Concord, MA. She assumed the role of Director of Financial Aid at Middlesex in 2007 and became the Director of Admissions in 2016 before moving to her current role. Prahl came to Middlesex in 2001 from St. Andrew’s School in Boca Raton, FL, where she was an Assistant Director of Admissions. She earned a B.A. in modern languages and literature at Kenyon College, and her M.A.Ed. from Harvard Graduate School of Education.

We are grateful to all of our colleagues, students, parents/guardians and trustees that contributed to this interview process. We know that the addition of this administrative role will help Parker deepen its commitment to the values of DEIB and the mission of our school.

Respectfully and in partnership,
