Maldonado Named ISL Softball Coach of the Year

Congratulations to Physical Education teacher Madeline Maldonado on being named the Independent School League Softball Coach of the Year.

Maldonado became head varsity softball coach last spring and worked with her team to establish goals and shared expectations of being committed to practicing and improving their physical skills. In 2022, the team closed with a 3-7 season and made it to the Regional Championship, where they ended up taking second in the region.

This spring the team enhanced on last year’s goals and expectations. With fantastic chemistry and determination to compete, they ended the season with a final record of 8-5, finishing second in the conference and third in the region.

Maldonado commented, “We are a real competitive threat in our league and are striving to get a softball banner put up in the Big Gym. We have an awesome group of student-athletes who understand the importance of playing a team sport and are dedicated to enhancing Parker softball and Parker athletics as a whole.”

In sharing news of this achievement, fellow softball coach and English teacher David Fuder said, “In only her second season as head coach, Maldonado has taken our program in great directions, and we are incredibly happy that she's been recognized by her fellow coaches.”

Please join Parker in congratulating Maldonado and the entire team.
