Upper School Cross Country Enjoys Success

Under the direction of former UIC Cross Country and Track Coach Jim Knoedel, as well as Parker alumna Caleb Flack ’12, the Upper School Cross Country team experienced several successes throughout the 2017 season.

The team advanced to the IHSA 1A Sectional Meet for the first time in recent Parker history, slating several personal best times. While the Colonels did not advance as a team to the IHSA 1A State Cross Country Meet at Detweiler Park in Peoria, they were able to advance two individuals, junior Audrey Shadle and senior Jack McNabola. Shadle advanced finishing within the top 7 female contestants while McNabola finished as the Sectional Champion.

This past weekend both Shadle and McNabola competed at the IHSA 1A State Cross Country Meet and both slated impressive finishes. Shadle finished 97th out of 208 runners with a final time of 19:51 for three miles. McNabola earned a 3rd place finish with a final time of 14:40 for three miles. Additionally, McNabola was honored by the Independent School League as Cross Country Athlete of the Year while Senior Axel Burlin also received All Conference honors.

Congratulations to the entire Upper School Cross Country team for their successes throughout the season!
