COVID-19 Screening Process

Important Reminders About Screening
  • Do not eat, drink or brush your teeth for 30 minutes before collecting the sample.
  • Collect the sample on the same day as you drop it off.
  • Prepare only ONE VIAL per individual and save the other vials for later. 
  • Submit your vial as is—no bags or envelopes, please.
  • Drop off your sample no later than 10 a.m. on drop-off day.Late samples will not be accepted. 
  • Positive results will be communicated by the Nurses’ Office along with further instructions.
  • If you do not hear from the Nurses’ Office, you may return to campus the next day.

COVID-19 Screening Saliva Collection Instructions
  1. Anyone involved in collection should wash hands for 30 seconds.
  2. Take ONE tube and place the straw inside the open tube.
  3. Allow saliva to pool in the mouth (if it helps, rub your tongue against the bottom of your mouth or gently massage the outside of your cheeks).
  4. Place your lips around the straw and gently spit or drool into the straw in the tube. Gravity is your friend!
  5. Fill the tube 1/3 full, not including bubbles.
  6. Snap the lid of the tube tightly closed.
  7. Clean the outside of the tube using standard wipes.
  8. Collect ONE sample for each Parker student/employee being screened.
