National YoungArts Foundation Recognizes Student Novel
Recently, the National YoungArts Foundation released its list of artists in the 2021 National YoungArts Competition, and a familiar name was on that list: Owen Dudney ’22 joined “the nation’s most accomplished young artists in the visual, literary, design and performing arts.”
Discipline-specific panels of esteemed artists use a rigorous blind judgment process to choose the winners for their caliber of artistic achievement. This year, recognizing only 10 students in the Writing/Novel category the panel awarded Dudney’s novel submission Honorable Mention, the highest award level in the category this year. Winning students become eligible for nomination as a U.S. Presidential Scholar in the Arts.
Join us in congratulating Dudney for pursuing his passions and persevering through a difficult year to achieve this hard earned award.
