Goldman Speaks on Bullying with the Upper School

Parker invited award-winning author Carrie Goldman to the community to speak to Upper School students. Goldman, the author of Bullied: What Every Parent, Teacher, and Kid Needs to Know About Ending the Cycle of Fear, came to campus to speak as a continuation of the school’s work during Bullying Prevention Month in October.

In today’s digital age, this visit from Goldman was especially necessary and thought-provoking. She covered the lasting damages of bullying, ways to identify it, methods of intervening when one sees bullying and social media’s role in worsening these problems. Following Goldman’s visit, Upper School students spent time in Advisory discussed different bullying scenarios.

With the proliferation of technology, this discussion on bullying was extremely important for all students. For those who would like to listen to Goldman’s remarks, please watch her discussion here.
