Greek Play Highlights Heroes, Monsters and Mythical Creatures
The class of 2033 delighted the community in their performance of the annual 4th Grade Greek Play.
As part of their curriculum, 4th grade students have been immersed in Greek mythology. They have read a large body of literature, including different versions of many myths. Based on what they read, each graderoom selected a story and worked together to write, revise and finalize a unique script. In music and art classes, they developed sound effects for their stories, drew backgrounds and created props for their stage performances. In the final weeks of preparation, students rehearsed multiple times before sharing two special performances with the community.
This year’s 4th Grade Greek Play featured heroes, monsters and mythological creatures in the stories of Odysseus, Bellerophon and Heracles, featuring Charybdis, the Chimera and the Nemean Lion, among others. The action featured a flying horse, flashing swords, spears, bravery, cunning, boasting, hubris and more!
