Principal Dan Frank formally knighted and saluted students as they departed the “Kingdom of Fifthenham” during this year’s 5th Grade Dubbing Ceremony.
This concluding activity associated with the 5th graders’ study of the Middle Ages featured students proceeding into the Heller Auditorium in the same characters and costumes as those in their medieval classroom presentations.
Student voices filled the space with the sounds of music before coming forward in small groups to kneel before Principal Frank in his regal ensemble. Frank spoke each student’s chosen name and dubbed each with his trusty sword, enshrining them to the “Kingdom of Fifthenham” and the excitement that awaits them in Middle School.
Francis W. Parker School educates students to think and act with empathy, courage and clarity as responsible citizens and leaders in a diverse democratic society and global community.
