Freshman Interns in Peru During Summer Months

Freshman Balthazar Francisco Rosado connected with his Peruvian heritage during the summer, interning at the City Hall of Magdalena del Mar in the seaside district of Lima, Peru.

Completing close to 100 hours of work, Rosado worked Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., communicating only in Spanish. His position in the Administration Department allowed him to participate in urban planning projects, work on public safety oversight and review documents. He even had the opportunity to observe electoral meetings for the upcoming elections in Lima.

Additionally, Rosado spent several days surveying the recently rescued archaeological site Huaca Huantille, located in Magdalena del Mar. This once-abandoned group of temples from the pre-Incan culture, circa 900 AD, was one of the current Mayor’s restoration projects.

At the end of his internship, Rosado was invited to return in the summer of 2026. Join Parker in congratulating him on a job well done.
