Lower and Intermediate School students gathered for a special Morning Ex showcasing talent and learning.
Morning Ex is a time and place when students can share their work with one another to entertain and inspire. Content can come from the classroom, after-school activities and beyond, and the Lower and Intermediate School Showcase Morning Ex provided a wonderful mixture of all.
Dean of Intermediate and Middle School Student Life Anthony Shaker served as emcee at this special event. To open, he reminded students of their responsibilities as audience members, encouraging them to examine the leaders of each act for cues as to how best to support students sharing on stage. Shaker then welcomed dancers from the Parker Breakers P.L.U.S. class to display some moves. Musicians from the Parker Rockers P.L.U.S. class followed with their rendition of Andy Grammer’s “Keep Your Head Up.” A movie about feelings created by 1st grade teacher Lindsey Kurek came next, and the Lower School Colonel Choir closed the show with a series of songs.
The talent and excitement of the performers and audience was palpable throughout the assembly, and all who attended left with a better appreciation for the varied types of work their classmates have engaged in.
