SK Celebrates the 100th Day of School

To most 6-year-olds, 100 is a big number, and SK classes have been building upon their numeracy skills throughout the year to recognize 100 and other three-digit numbers.

Since the school year began in September, students have been counting the passing days by checking them off on the academic calendar. Recognizing that their 100th day of school was almost upon them, teachers and students welcomed parent/guardian volunteers to the classroom for a series of special activities centering around the number 100.

On the 100th day of school, students made special crowns to commemorate the occasion and wore them as they cycled through a series of activities. Students colored 100 gumballs in an illustration of a gumball machine and 100 sprinkles on an illustration of a cupcake, and they affixed 100 small stickers to a worksheet. Parent/guardian volunteers were on hand to assist, and all made memories during this milestone event.
