Winter Sports Roundup

By Assistant Director of Athletics Luke Drase
With the winter sports season officially coming to a close, Parker takes a look back at the highlights student-athletes achieved throughout the winter months.

Boys Basketball
The Boys Basketball team reached its first regional championship game appearance since 2021, falling just short in a hard-fought battle against Michelle Clark.

In addition to its regional championship appearance, the team also was co-champion of the ISL, which included a win over Latin in the Clark St. Classic.

Junior Brady Harris scored his 1,000th career point this season and earned ISL Player of the Year honors. He was joined by sophomores Chris Chiles and Julian Pantoja for all-conference honors.

Girls Basketball
The Girls Basketball team earned a 13-12 record on the season, its highest win total since the 2013–14 season.

Senior Jojo Husbeck and junior Sloane Kins earned all-conference honors for the team.

Chess
The Chess team finished 2nd during the regular season in the Chicago Chess Conference and finished 1st in the end-of-season conference tournament.

The team also earned its second straight appearance in the state finals, finishing 2nd overall in 1A.

Sophomore Isaac Jakobe earned a bronze medal at the state tournament to go along with all-state honors on board one and his 1st place finish as an individual in the Chicago Chess Conference.

Senior Darius Cleaver finished 2nd in the Chicago Chess Conference.

Scholastic Bowl
Scholastic Bowl won a record-setting 6th straight regional championship and qualified to compete in the sectional championships.

Congrats to all of Parker’s student-athletes and their combined efforts during the winter!
