Nationally, less than 30% of 18-year-olds are registered to vote, compared with approximately 75% of adults age 45 or older, and U.S. citizens may be as young as 16 years old to register to vote in Illinois. Juniors Christina Merikas and Dev Weiss are partnering with The Civics Center, a nonpartisan nonprofit, to hold a voter registration drive to help the Parker community fulfill its civic duty!

Who can register to vote in Illinois?
U.S. citizens age 16 and older—students, faculty, staff, parents, caregivers, everyone! Specifically, 16- and 17-year-olds can pre-register to vote in Illinois, and adults age 18 and older can register to vote. Pre-registrations automatically become “official” when a person turns 18.

What the registrant will need
Illinois driver’s license or State ID (the registrant must input online the license or ID number and date of issue, both listed on the front of the card), and the last four digits of their Social Security number.

Registering to vote is quick and easy! Juniors Christina Merikas and Dev Weiss would love for anyone who registers online to stop by the voter registration table to receive an “I registered to vote” sticker and their heartfelt thanks!
