Lower and Upper School Students Hop to the Top in Math Kangaroo
Students across the school participated in this year’s Math Kangaroo competition, and the results are in!
Congratulations to senior Darius Cleaver, who claimed the top spot in Illinois and was 12th in his age group nationally. Another congratulations to 2nd grade student Nolan Xu—in his first year competing, he came in 1st place in Illinois and the nation! Both students will receive awards soon.
More notable performances came from senior Chase Wayland, who finished 4th in the state and in the nation’s top 30, while senior Dhruv Moorthy finished 5th in Illinois and 52nd nationally. Rounding out the group is sophomore Annabelle Kutcher, who earned 9th place in the state and 67th nationally in her grade.
These students represent an extraordinary level of mathematical talent and dedication, with their hard work earning them recognition on both state and national stages—an incredible achievement! Opportunities like Math Kangaroo give students the opportunity to explore their love of math outside the classroom and show their talents on a grander stage. Parker hopes even more students participate next year.
