Parker Track Races Away to State

The Parker Girls Track team took home a number of honors at the IHSA Sectional meet at Hope Academy on Thursday evening.
 
The Colonels qualified for the state finals in five different events:
 
The 4x800 team composed of Maya Mote, Lily Wood, Khalia King and Jojo Husbeck not only earned their spot in the state finals, but finished first in the sectional, coming in 41 seconds faster than the second-place team.
 
Addie Williams qualified for the 1600m with a second-place finish before taking first in the 3200m by a margin of 44 seconds.
 
George Washington University commit Dal Harrell capped off the state qualifications, finishing second in the 800m, and winning the 400m with a season best time of 1:01.18.
 
The team will travel to Eastern Illinois University where they will compete in the IHSA State Finals on Thursday, May 21 through Saturday, May 23.
