Drama Teacher on Game Show!

Dr. Goh was a TV and film actor in Singapore in the ’90s and even starred as a celebrity guest several times on Singapore’s version of The Pyramid Game. 

He ended up on Name That Tune after originally applying to be on the reality show The Traitors. When that audition didn’t pan out, the producers approached him with the alternate opportunity, and, after five rounds of interviews, he was confirmed as a contestant.

Dr. Goh loved the filming process. He shared, “Watching the show on television, I have marveled at how glamorous the set looked. When I saw it in person, it was every bit as fabulous as it was on screen.”

Dr. Goh was also impressed by the efficiency of the show’s operations. “Flights were booked to optimize my travel experience. There was a limo that took me from my home to the airport; another limo waiting for me when I landed; a full buffet service at my hotel; and a personal handler who brought me to hair, makeup, wardrobe, took my meal requests, coached me on how to respond to questions on air and off; and swiftly provided water and a fan to cool me off from the studio lights between takes. It was quite the experience!”

 

When asked about a lasting memory, Goh offered, “During round one, I actually got a category that I was not well-versed in. Panic ensued! Needless to say, it led to some less than shining moments of game play. Regardless, I still had a blast!”

Goh’s episode of Name That Tune will air on Monday, September 28 at 7 p.m. CST on FOX and will be available for streaming the following day on Hulu.
