Students in 3rd grade Woodshop just finished creating doors for their cubbies in the LS Shop room.
Students each created a door that included their name and pieces that could spin or slide back and forth. After sanding and using a screwdriver to add hinges, students thought about different objects that could move and how their name could be incorporated into this theme. Throughout the process, they made improvements and added details after receiving feedback on their work.
Risk-taking was encouraged to ensure students were trying new techniques and pushing the quality of their work.
Francis W. Parker School educates students to think and act with empathy, courage and clarity as responsible citizens and leaders in a diverse democratic society and global community.
