Parker Basketball Earns Clark St. Classic Sweep

On a cold December night, hundreds of fans walked into the Keating Sports Center at IIT, packing the stands to watch the Boys and Girls Basketball teams come away with two victories and solidifying a Clark St. Classic sweep for the Colonels.

The night's festivities kicked off with the traditional Parker bagpipes, followed by the Girls Basketball team tipping off against Intrinsic Charter High School.

Parker got off to a quick start with strong defensive pressure that led to 10 steals and an additional nine deflections, leading to turnovers. The Colonels took a first-quarter lead and never looked back as they led wire to wire for a 30-19 win.

The team was paced by junior Sloane Kins’ team-high 10 points and 15 rebounds. Classmate Alya Pressman led the team in steals with five and in assists with three.

After a 15-minute break between games, the Boys team took the court against rival Latin, hoping to extend their two-game winning streak against the Romans.

Despite the slow start, the Colonels started to get back on track after a three from senior Malik Crowder.
Still trailing after the first quarter, Parker finally took their first lead of the game before halftime, thanks in large part to the on-ball pressure from junior Nathan Polonsky, playing in only his second game since returning from injury.

From that point on, Parker slowly extended their lead behind sophomore Chris Chiles’ 15-point, 11-rebound double-double, and junior Brady Harris’ 13 points and dagger three that put away Latin for good for the 57-48 win.

Last year, 2025, was the second in a row when the Colonels completed a program sweep on the night of the Clark St. Classic, and with the win, both programs are now over .500 for the 2025–26 season.
