Students Hop on Math Competition

More than 20 Parker students tested their math skills in the annual international Math Kangaroo competition through 75-minute multiple-choice exams emphasizing logical reasoning, critical thinking, creativity and spatial reasoning, rather than strict curriculum-based calculation.

Upper School students, Middle School students and—for the first time ever—a Lower School student all participated, each sitting for this exam at a special time and place during the day.

Since wrong answers don’t count against a test taker, students were encouraged to attempt all problems on their test. All participants received a pencil, ribbon and puzzle for participating, and high-scoring test takers will earn medals, books and summer camp opportunities.
