Colonel Clash Comes to Intermediate School

Intermediate School students had a morning filled with fun, exercise and, of course, guts in the inaugural Colonel Clash.

The Physical Education Department tries to give each division a rally point/exciting event to look forward to during the year. JK and SK students have the Winter Games, 1st through 3rd graders have Field Day, and now the Intermediate School can look forward to Colonel Clash. “In our daily PE classes, we focus on collaboration, sportsmanship and camaraderie,” the P.E. Department shared. “Through this event we want to give students a large-scale opportunity to work together across their grade and classrooms to accomplish individual and team goals.” The department planned a fun event filled with activities in all three gyms and invited the Intermediate School students’ Big Siblings to help lead and play with each team.

Not surprisingly, the event was a huge success! “Students loved working across their classes in teams with their bandanas,” the P.E. Department said. “They also enjoyed the scoresheet portion: Each team was trying to earn points in every challenge. Our favorite part was seeing our 4th and 5th grade students work with their Big Sibs!

“The P.E. Department at Parker focuses on giving opportunities to all our students across differences and ability levels. We hope this event encouraged each student to contribute to their team’s success.”
