Big Siblings Pair with Younger Pals

Parker’s yearlong celebration of the class of 2027 commenced with the Big Siblings Morning Ex.

Big Siblings is almost as old as Morning Ex itself, with origins reaching as far back as 1918. As in past years, seniors processed into the Big Gym led by the sounds of bagpipes and took their seats as leaders in front of an audience of their teachers, parents/guardians, and peer students.

Principal Dan Frank spoke about the importance of the moment in the lives of the students and families of the class of 2027, and Head of Upper School Cory Zeller called the seniors forward in small groups to pair with each class in Junior Kindergarten through 8th grade as their elder “siblings.” During the year, it is not uncommon to observe a senior with a younger “sibling” listening to a story, reading, tutoring, or assisting on a class trip to further the intergenerational bonds established.
