Junior Kindergarten students worked with their teacher to bring spring color to the patio outside their classroom.
JK teacher Stacy Buehler wanted to decorate the patio space outside her classroom with flowers in bloom. To make this happen, she asked each student to bring in a single flower to add to a series of planter boxes. Buehler then talked with students about how sun, water and soil work together to ensure flowers grow. They also discussed the purpose of roots and how they bring water to the flower, just like straws.
As a final step, Buehler led students in transplanting their flowers into boxes.
