Chauncey Griffith Memorial Fund for Music Appreciation

David Shayne ՚52 made a generous donation to launch a new endowed fund called the Chauncey Griffith Memorial Fund for Music Appreciation. Funds from this endowment will provide support to bring in musicians to perform at Parker, produce student musical productions and allow students to attend professional performances. David believes that having access to these experiences during his time at Parker inspired his love for music and musical theater that continues to this day—and he credits Chauncey Griffith with much of that.

“Of all the benefits I received from Parker, the most rewarding to this day was developing my love of classical music and musical comedy. I sang under Chauncey Griffith in the Messiah and Elijah. And I participated in several musicals, including Iolanthe, Allegro and Street Scene. I can’t thank Parker enough for enriching my life by teaching me to love music, theater and  performing. Hallelujah!”—David Shayne
